Most of the termites in our area are Eastern Subterranean termites. You are likely to see mud tubes on the foundation or inside on the wall. You may also see small holes in the sheetrock. Often the first thing you see are the winged alates or swarmers. These are small black bugs with large white looking wings. You could have hundreds!
The frequency of treatment will vary depending on your tolerance level of seeing a bug, how much the doors or windows are open, the condition of weatherstripping and caulk and the amount of landscaping. We recommend monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly services.
Most pesticide labels state that people and pets are to stay off of the treated areas until they are dry. After that it is safe to re-enter.
It is always ok to leave during a treatment, however, in most instances, adults can safely remain in the house.
Most pest treatments can be completed in 30 minutes.
During a termite inspection, we will need to inspect all walls from the baseboards to the ceiling and all of the ceiling. If the building has a pier and beam foundation, and is accessible, that area will need to be inspected. We will also visibly inspect the attic and exterior of the structure.
We often can schedule within 1 to 2 days.
We service approximately 60 miles in all directions from Wichita Falls. We are not licensed to do services in Oklahoma.
We use Termidor HE, which is a non-repellent, so termites cannot sense that it is present. Consequently, they do not avoid it. When a termite contacts the active ingredient Fipronil, it is absorbed through their skin. It is then transferred to other termites that they come in contact with, working their way through the entire colony, even killing the queen. Termidor HE should last 10-15 years.
